There’s no telling what’ll come next when it comes to education. Since the beginning of time, it’s been proven that humanity’s greatest asset has always been the ability to learn, to grow, to evolve. Education is no exception.
Starting from the apprenticeships to large-scale schools that were segregated, the development of historical accounts and theories, language, to the unification of schools, theories of mathematical processes leading toward a more electronic way of learning with calculators and an emphasis on understanding rather than solutions, it’s been quite a journey. Nowadays, we’re seeing more and more of the online atmosphere, too, where a child can actually learn in the quiet of his or her own home without worries about intimidating teachers, classmates, or pressure. Homeschooling has become a tremendous factor as well where–while you have online learning developed in a school setting–you also have the traditional lifestyle of the parent-teacher taking more of the responsibility.
Some schools are becoming more localized in certain studies–liberal arts, science, engineering, computers, music, dance. It’s not as all-inclusive anymore. Don’t misunderstand any implication behind that statement, though; as it is the opinion that such an evolvement is a positive one. Individuality is becoming more prevalent in our educational society. In addition, teaching methods have changed–you have Montessori, small school classes, large school classes, etc etc. The role of the teacher has changed.
Is it any wonder that the theory of education will continue to evolve? The future awaits. There’s no telling what to expect when it comes to the capacity of our ability to learn. As said before…. It’s humanity’s greatest asset.
